Rosie’s Sidekick Sandwich Shop opens new location in Schaumburg IL

Rosie’s Sidekick Sandwich Shop expands from Logan Square Chicago to the suburbs

Rosie’s Sidekick Sandwich Shop & Catering has opened a second location in the D. R. Horton building on Golf Road in Schaumburg, Illinois. Rosie’s sidekick has been providing Chicago’s Logan Square and west side neighborhoods with gourmet sandwiches, keto bowls, pizza bread and more for six years.

Since 1968, the Pecoraro family has been providing delicious, homemade food to the northwest side of Chicago. Freddy Pecoraro, owner of Rosie’s Sidekick Sandwich Shop, remembers, “I have been in the kitchen with my parents since I was five years old, learning to cook from their original recipes.” He adds, “I’ve taken those classic recipes and put my spin on them to create mouth-watering food that will satisfy the hungriest of appetites.”

Serving great food with quality ingredients

The concept for Rosie’s Sidekick Sandwich Shop is simple – create a laid-back shop where anyone can come to get an enjoyable sandwich with ‘real’ bread that has only 6 ingredients and no preservatives. The Italian Beef and Meatballs are still made using the old-world recipes his parents brought over from Sicily in the 1960s using 100% Black Angus beef. The original northwest side bakery was one of the original Muffuletta sandwiches in Chicago, and Rosie’s Sidekick Sandwich Shop still has that delicious Muffuletta sandwich every day.

Freddy takes the time to source only quality ingredients for his sandwiches, keto bowls, pizza bread, soups and desserts. If he won’t eat it, he’s not going to serve it to his customers.

Bringing quality food to the suburbs

Now that concept has come to the suburbs. “Customers who have moved to the suburbs are looking for that authentic Italian sandwich shop that prides itself on quality,” says Pecoraro. “That is always are main focus – quality.”

Rosie’s Sidekick Sandwich Shop is also hyper-focused on giving back to the community. Whether it is for a block party, baseball team, teacher appreciation, emergency service appreciation, school supplies or backpack drives, or something else, Freddy wants the community to know he is here for them. “Giving back to the community that has given to me is something that is extremely important.”

The new Schaumburg location is in the D. R. Horton building at 1750 E Golf Road on the first floor. It’s conveniently located just off I-290, and just north of Woodfield Mall.
